Excel XP/2002-Level 1

Learn Excel basics in creating, saving, formatting, editing, and printing spreadsheets in the workbook environment. Participants will learn how to:
§ Use techniques and shortcuts for copying, moving and formatting text, values, and formulas.
§ Create and use basic formulas and functions.
§ Use powerful tools such as AutoSum, Preprogrammed Functions, Fill Commands, and Absolute References.
§ Use shortcuts, toolbars, and menus to effectively use Excel tools.
§ Use printing tools to fit worksheets on one page, insert headers/footers, and much more.
§ Create, modify, print basic charts.

Excel XP/2002-Level 2
Date: Fall
Additional functions, working and linking worksheets and workbooks, advanced charting and formatting, and creating, extracting, sorting, and manipulating Excel databases are covered in this course. Participants will learn how to:
§ Customize Excel toolbars /menus
§ Use multisheet worksheets, link worksheets with 3-D formulas, consolidate data, and link workbooks.
§ Create combination charts, use graphic elements in charts and worksheets and other advanced charting techniques.
§ Work with date functions and advanced formatting techniques
§ Work with data as a list or database, sorting, extracting, and filtering data.
§ Protect formulas and worksheet areas
§ Build and use templates


Word XP/2002-Level 1

Learn the basics in creating, saving, formatting, editing, and printing documents in the word processing environment. Participants will learn how to:
§ Quickly navigate a Word document
§ Discover how character and paragraph formatting differs
§ Learn editing techniques and shortcuts for copying, moving, and formatting characters and paragraphs (character bolding, font size, etc., and paragraph border, formats, and indents).
§ Use the ruler bar and selection bar.
§ Introductions to using tabs and tables
§ Control page appearance using basic headers/footers, margins, etc.
§ Use printing tools through page setup commands.

Word XP/2002-Level 2

Additional tools are introduced in the Level 2 course. Participants will learn how to:
§ Create multiple columns and why/how section breaks are used
§ Employ advanced formatting, and techniques and perform calculations with tables
§ Import data from Excel into tables
§ Create multiple headers/footers/page numbers
§ Work with graphics, WordArt, symbols, watermarks, drawing, and borders/shading for paragraphs and pages.
§ Create and use templates Discover styles
§ Use workgroup collaboration to compare, merge and add comments to documents

Learn dynamic presentation skills using the popular software PowerPoint. Presentation design concepts and features are covered to equip users with tools to create a visual presentation that delivers a message with impact! Participants will learn how to:
§ Create both computerized slide shows and overheads for delivering presentations.
§ Create, manipulate, and rearrange slides.
§ Use drawing tools and autoshapes.
§ Add transitions, animations, clipart, WordArt, and timings.
§ Create organization charts and tables.
§ Use presentation designs to easily creating eye-catching backgrounds.
§ Learn design and presentation tips for PowerPoint.
§ Create audience handouts, speaker's notes, and outlines for your presentations.

Access XP/2002-Level 1

Learn Access basics and become acquainted with Access database concepts, terminology, database planning and design. Participants will learn how to:
§ Effectively design and properly modify tables to store data
§ Easily add, edit, delete, and copy records in Access tables.
§ Find, filter, and sort records.
§ Design and use simple queries to extract records that meet certain criteria.
§ Create basic forms to use for entering and viewing data.
§ Import, export, and link Access objects.
§ Create and print basic reports.
