Service Outage Information

01/11/07 Wireless interference continued to be a problem. Over the last few weeks we have attempted to eliminate any source of local interference as well as replace all of our head end radios and amps. Today we replaced the main antenna which currently looks to have been the source of the problem though troubleshooting indicates it is good. We suspect it may have a bad internal solder joint as it is a marine style antenna, impervious to water and weather. We continue to monitor the system and watch this. The antenna currently installed is an older style which we will replace if we determine that the problem is solved.

12/19/06 Wireless problems due to unusual amount of general interference across all bands. This is usually caused by solar episodes but recently has been made worse by unusually cold and dry air. We can only wait for this to subside. Problems are most noticeable in afternoon through early evening.

11/14/06 0345 Many Power Outages during storm.

08/28/06 1645 - 1942 DSL authentication was down due to a failed router at VCN NOC, DSL itself wasn't down, only the ability to authenticate which only affected those clients authenticating during this period. Since DSL routers authenticate about every 10 hours only a few clients were affected.

08/25/06 0320 - 0800 AP2 was down during a lightning storm.

08/24/06-06/25/06 Scheduled Maintenance
A 45 minute maintenance affecting DSL only, starting at 2400 08/24/06 while VCN upgrades the Wyoming LATA to an OC12.
Some Zoom modem clients were down until about 1000 08/25/06 as the update affected the way the zoom modems contact the radius server. Very few people would have noticed this as it would only affect modems trying to authenticate during this period.
