These pages are for the exclusive use of the customers and clients of CS&T Internet Services.
Print out these help pages and save them for when you have problems with your system or service.
Windows setup instructions:
Dialup setup
  • Click Start
  • For Win 95/98/ME/2000 Click Settings
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double Click Internet Options
  • Click the Connections Tab
  • Click the Setup button
  • Wait for the Wizard to start
  • Click Next
  • Click the Connect to the Internet radio button
  • Click Next
  • Click the Set up my connection manually radio button
  • Click Next
  • Click the Connect using a dial-up modem radio button
  • Click Next
  • In the ISP Name dialog box type:
    • Hamsfork.net for Diamondville/Kemmerer
    • Blacksfork.net for Bridger Valley
  • Click Next
  • In the Phone number dialog box
    • Type 877-9834 for Diamondville/Kemmerer
    • Type 786-2888 for Bridger Valley
  • Click Next
  • Type Your username in the Username dialog box
  • Type your password in the password dialog box
  • Type your password in the Confirm password dialog box
  • Check both check boxes ON(or set as you wish)
  • click Next
  • Click Finish
Dialup Browser:
  • Click Start
  • For Win 95/98/ME/2000 Click Settings
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double Click Internet Options
  • Click the Connections Tab
  • Click Hamsfork.net or Blacksfork.net as apporpriate (hilite the text)
  • Click Set default button
  • Click the Always dial my default connection radio button
  • Click OK button
Dialup E-Mail (Outlook Express):
  • Run Outlook Express
  • If the New Account Wizard starts, cancel or close it
  • Click the Tools Menu
  • Click the Accounts menu item
  • Click the Mail tab
  • Click the Add button
  • Click the Mail menu item
  • Type your name as you want it to appear on your mail
  • Click Next>
  • Type your e-mail address
  • Click Next
  • Set My Incoming Mail Server is a: to POP3
  • Incoming mail server
    • mail.hamsfork.net for hamsfork.net
    • mailhost.blacksfork.net for blacksfork.net
  • Outgoing mail server
    • mail.hamsfork.net for hamsfork.net
    • mailhost.blacksfork.net for blacksfork.net
  • Click Next
  • Type your account name in Account name dialog box
  • Type your password name in Password dialog box
  • Check Remember Password ON
  • Check Logon using secure password authentication OFF
  • Click Next
  • Click Finish

DSL Connection:
  • Click Start
  • For Win 95/98/ME/2000 Click Settings
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double Click Network Connections
  • Right Click the Local Area Connection Icon
  • For Windows XP/XP Pro
  • Click Properties in the context menu that pops up
  • Click Internet Protocol (hilite the text, do not turn off the check)
  • Click the Obtain an IP address automatically radio button
  • Click the Obtain DNS server address automatically radio button
  • Click the OK button
  • Close Control Panel
  • Run Internet Explorer
  • Login and setup Router per instructions below
DSL Browser:
  • Click Start
  • For Win 95/98/ME/2000 Click Settings
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double Click Internet Options
  • Click the Connections Tab
  • Click the Never dial a connection radio button
  • Click OK button
DSL E-Mail (Outlook Express):
  • Run Outlook Express
  • If the New Account Wizard starts, cancel or close it
  • Click the Tools Menu
  • Click the Accounts menu item
  • Click the Mail tab
  • Click the Add button
  • Click the Mail menu item
  • Type your name as you want it to appear on your mail
  • Click Next>
  • Type your e-mail address
  • Click Next
  • Set My Incoming Mail Server is a: to POP3
  • Incoming mail server
  • Type mail.hamsfork.net
  • Outgoing mail server
  • Type smtp.vcn.com
  • Click Next
  • Type your account name in Account name dialog box
  • Type your password name in Password dialog box
  • Check Remember Password ON
  • Check Logon using secure password authentication OFF
  • Click Next
  • Click Finish
  • Click Tools menu
  • Click Accounts menu item
  • Click Mail tab
  • Click (Hilite) the mail account
  • Click Properties
  • Click the Servers tab
  • Click to Check ON My server requires authentication
  • Click Settings button
  • Click the Log on using radio button
  • Type your DSL account name in Account name dialog box
  • Type your DSL password in password dialog box
  • Check ON Remember password
  • Check OFF Log on using Secure Password Authentication dialog box
  • Click OK
  • Click OK again
  • Click Close
Zoom Router setup:
  • Connect the modem WAN port to your phone line
  • Connect the modem LAN port to your computer/s ethernet port
  • Connect line filters to phone lines
  • Turn on the modem, wait about 2 minutes
  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Clear the Address Field
  • Type 10.0.0.2 (unless your default gateway is different)
  • Username: admin
  • Password: zoomadsl
  • Basic Setup
  • VPI: 0
  • VCI: 32
  • Encapsulation: PPPoA VC-Mux
  • Bridge: Disabled
  • Username: Your DSL Username
  • Password: Your DSL Password
  • Service Name: CST
  • Disconnect Timeout: 0
  • MRU: 1492
  • MTU: 1492
  • MSS: 1432
  • Authentication: Auto
  • Check Automatic Reconnect
  • Click Save Changes
  • Click Write Settings to Flash and Reboot. Click Confirm.
For a faster sync, after your modem resets:
  • Click Advanced Setup in the top menu.
  • Select ADSL Configuration and set the Handshake Protocol to Autosense- T1.413 first.
  • Click Save Changes
  • Click Write Settings to Flash and Reboot. Click Confirm.
Actiontec Router setup:
  • Connect the modem WAN port to your phone line
  • Connect the modem LAN port to your computer/s ethernet port
  • Connect line filters to phone lines
  • Turn on the modem, wait about 2 minutes
  • Insert the included Modem CD and answer the questions appropriately.
  • Open a browser and type 192.168.0.1 into the address line.
  • In the Actiontec web interface click Setup/Configuration.
  • On the Setup/Configuration screen select Advanced Settings from the menu on the left side.
  • Click on the Begin Advanced Setup Button.
  • On the Advanced Settings select WAN IP from the menu on the left side.
  • On the WAN IP Settings, Check ON, Obtain an IP address through PPPoA.
  • Click Next.
  • On the Broadband Connection via PPPoE/PPPoA screen Check ON PPP auto connect.
  • Click Save and Restart.
Trend Router Setup:
  • Connect the modem WAN port to your phone line
  • Connect the modem LAN port to your computer/s ethernet port
  • Connect line filters to phone lines
  • Turn on the modem, wait about 2 minutes
  • Insert the included Modem CD and answer the questions appropriately.
  • Open a browser and type 192.168.0.1 into the address line.
  • Login to the router using username and password provided.
  • In the Trendnet web interface click Setup Wizard.
  • Step through the wizard until finished
  • Connection Method: Manual
  • VPI 0
  • VCI 32
  • Connection Method: Login PPPoA
  • DSL DSL Multiplexing Method VC-Based
  • Type in Login Name and Password as provided.
  • Connect Behavior: Keep Alive
  • IP Address Automatic
  • DNS Automatic
  • Click Finish
  • Click Restart and OK on the warning message

Wireless Connection:
For Cisco/Aironet:
  • Click Start
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double Click Network Connections
  • Right Click the wireless Connection Icon
  • Click Properties in the context menu that pops up
  • Click Internet Protocol (hilite the text, do not turn off the check)
  • Click Properties button
  • Click the Use the following IP address radio button
  • IP address: type in your assigned IP address
  • Subnet mask: type in 255.255.255.0
  • Default gateway:
    • 63.162.144.1 for hamsfork.net
    • 63.167.20.1 for blacksfork.net
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the OK button again
  • Close Control Panel

For Tranzeo/YDI:
  • Click Start
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double Click Network Connections
  • Right Click the Local Area Connection Icon
  • Click Properties in the context menu that pops up
  • Click Internet Protocol (hilite the text, do not turn off the check)
  • Click Properties button
  • Click the Use the following IP address radio button
  • IP address: type in your assigned IP address
  • Subnet mask: type in 255.255.255.0
  • Default gateway:
    • 63.162.144.1 for hamsfork.net
    • 63.167.20.1 for blacksfork.net
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the OK button again
  • Close Control Panel
Wireless Browser:
  • Click Start
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double Click Internet Options
  • Click the Connections Tab
  • Click the Never dial a connection radio button
  • Click OK button
